Is it Sin if You Didn't Know? - Christmas Short Stories

Value: Thou Shalt not Steal

Susan and Janie and Heather enjoyed to go to the shopping center. If they had a little money to spend, that was extra enjoyable however even if they didnt they loved to just look at things and get deals with at the food court and fulfill pals from school and church and just be kids for a while. Susans mother felt sure the shopping mall was safe due to the fact that the women were together and had great good sense and several members of their church worked at the shopping center and the food court so they watched on the women, despite the fact that the ladies didnt know that.

This Saturday resembled all the others as Susan awaited Janie and Heather to get to her home for mama to drive them to the shopping mall. She fussed with her make up and hair attempting different designs and thinking of how the kids in school would react to a different color. Lastly, they got right here and everybody in your house scattered as the ladies had their reunion in the front all with all the needed giggling and gossiping and informing each other how charming they looked in their attire.

Mother are you ready to go? Susan called the stairs. Janie and Heather are here.

Simply a minute honey. Susans mom yelled down and lastly she came down all ready to go but she had Susans little brother Timmy accompanying with her. Susan, be a dear and let Timmy tag along with you women. Mrs. Henderson next door is sick so he cant review there.

In the beginning, Susan pouted and complained due to the fact that she hesitated Timmy would be a trouble. Susan let him come. We love Timmy. He is so funny and adorable and we will certainly help you enjoy him so he doesn’t stray. Janie whispered to her friend.

Yes do Susan Heather chimed in You understand all the kids love Timmy when he comes and attends Sunday School when your papa instructs.

So Susan agreed and they all had a big time tickling Timmy in the automobile and getting him to laugh and making him everybodys cute little brother, not just Susans. At the shopping mall, the four had a wonderful time together. Rather of being a trouble, Timmy found out ways to make his sister and her pals laugh with his silly faces or things he would state teasing the clothing or the people at the shopping mall strolling around. Hes so funny Susan, we just like him. Heather said once laughing at his tricks so hard that she virtually fell down. The afternoon passed rapidly and before they knew it, mommy had actually chosen them up and they were on the means house for a sleepover.

The ladies got busy getting Susans room all set for a night of seeing chick flicks and doing all the enjoyable things that a slumber party had to have. There was lots of popcorn and ice cream and make up to do each other over with and they were talking and trying to decide what movies to watch. All of a sudden the air was fulled of loud sobs.

Susan! She heard her sweet little sibling cry out from his space down the hall. All three girls ran in. There on his bed sat Timmy cross-legged. He had spread out on his blanket some of the toys he had actually purchased at the shopping mall but he was holding a huge candy bar and simply sobbing. Susan loved Timmy lots and didnt desire him to cry so she remained on the bed and held him and Heather and Janie patted him and comforted him.

What is it Timmy, did somebody hurt you? Susan gently asked him as he cooled down enough to talk.

No, look! and he opened his hand which was wrapped around an extremely large sweet bar. I don’t believe I paid for this Susan. I understand I had it in my hand at that candy booth in the food court. However Heather called for me to come take a look at the film posters and I just ran to her with it in my hand and put it in my bag without believing. I stole it Susan. He sobbed. God is going to dislike me, wont he? I did a dreadful sin.

Susan, remember Pastor Smiths sermon recently on Thou Shalt Not Take? Janie asked. I understand everyone consisting of Timmy went to the alter and assured God we never would steal. Whats going to take place Susan? Will Timmy go to hell for taking now? Janie asked her buddy and she was near splits at the concept of Timmy being in a lot problem with God.

I have no idea Susan said loudly nearing splits herself holding Timmy tight.

All the youngsters were about to break down in splits when Heather finally stated, Wait lets ask your mommy. She ran to the door, out into the hall and called down to Susans mommy. Mrs. Morris, kindly come aid! Her voice was so packed with panic that Susans mom came rushing up the stairs anticipating to find someone blood loss. She discovered the girls and Timmy sobbing in Timmys room.

Timmy, Susan, whats incorrect? Are you ill? Their mama said warmly however a little scared touching each of their heads for a temperature level like all mommies do.

No its even worse. I believe Timmy is doomed. Susan cried. See when we went to the shopping mall and between all 4 of them Mrs. Morris found out exactly what the problem was. All of a sudden simply chuckled aloud like she had heard the funniest joke ever.

Why are you laughing mother? I don’t want Timmy to go to hell. Susan objected.

Children hear me. Timmy, did you intend to steal the sweet? She asked holding Timmys hand. Heather and Janie sat cross-legged on the floor listening.

No Mom, I didnt even understand I did it. Is that sin Mom? Is it sin if you didnt know? He asked desperate to understand if he was in bad difficulty with God.

Kids remember our Sunday School lesson about sin? Remember exactly what sin is? She asked.

I bear in mind Mrs. Morris. Said Janie. Sin is anything that keeps us from enjoying God.

Thats right Janie. Timmy, sin is something that comes out of your heart when it wishes to rebel against God. It is something you decide to do when you understand you shouldnt. If you had discovered the sweet in your bag and not cried and not told anybody and kept it or ate it knowing you had actually not paid for it, then you would have taken it and you would be in sin.

Then I am not doomed, Mom? Timmy stated attempting to feel eased.

You are delicate to what God really wants, Timmy. Ladies you are too, thats why you cried so much. Thats great. It harms your heart to consider someone you love going to hell. Thats how God feels and that is why Jesus came and passed away for our sins. Lets pray that God take all our sins from our hearts. And they all bowed their heads and prayed and when they sought out, instead of splits, there were very smiles on all their faces.

But what about the candy bar, Mama? Susan would like to know.

Inform you what, Timmy. Lets let the ladies get their slumber party going. You and I will certainly run over to the mall, tell the man exactly what happened and you can spend for the sweet bar with your allowance money and everything will be right once more.

Will it really Mommy? Timmy said with excitement Will certainly it make it like I never ever did the bad thing.

It will certainly be much better than that due to the fact that the guy will certainly know you are a truthful child and he will trust you even more. Much better than that, while we are there, lets get sweet bars for everyone and we can join the celebration, ok?

HOORAY! All the children jumped with glee and danced around hugging and kissing Mrs. Morris for being so smart.
